Run the Tan and Support Mental Health

We are excited to announce that Mentis Assist, in partnership with Peninsula Hot Springs will be a charity beneficiary of Run the Tan 2021, the inaugural running event to be held at the iconic Tan Track in Melbourne, one of the most popular running tracks in the world, on Saturday 24 April 2021 to raise awareness for mental health.

Run the Tan 2021 will feature four races; a public fun run which will be open to everyone and three specialty races including Australia’s top elite athletes, sporting identities & celebrities and emergency services.

Participants can choose to run or walk the 3.8km Tan Track, as they take in the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens and pass by the Shrine of Remembrance.

The event, together with participants, will be giving back to the community by promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, while raising awareness of the positive impact that exercise has on mental health and wellbeing.

Our community partner, Peninsula Hot Springs is passionate about wellbeing, relaxation and the therapeutic benefits of the mineral rich waters of the hot springs, particularly on tired muscles following strenuous exercise.

Peninsula Hot Springs believes that wellness begins with connection – with ourselves, the community and our environment and offer a range of daily wellness programs.  In addition to bathing experiences, a range of activities are available including; yoga and pilates classes, body massages, meditation, hot and cold therapy and their signature body clay ritual.

Run the Tan 2021 provides an opportunity for participants to raise money for Mentis Assist to help support people with mental illness to become the best version of themselves by helping them to recognise their unique values, strengths and enhance social participation and meaningful relationships with others.
