About the opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to support individuals with mental health issues to have increased choice and control in their daily lives.   Your working day may include, but not be limited to, providing assistance with activities of daily living. You will also be required to deliver assistance to manage challenging behaviours that require positive behavioral support.  Some work may be in the client’s home.  Clients will present with very complex support needs and may present with dual diagnosis. You will be required to complete documentation to demonstrate that services have been undertaken according to the client’s NDIS plan.  All duties are undertaken in a client centred manner to support the client’s choice and control within their own situation.

Applicants must have as a minimum qualification a Diploma in Mental Health /Alcohol and other Drugs.  Advanced qualifications in a relevant field will be highly regarded.   Applicants must also have a minimum of 18 months experience working with clients with complex mental health presentations.  A current first aid certificate with CPR is also required.

Applicants must also have a current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a National Police Check, and Disability Worker Exclusion screening.
